Homemade Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
My sister makes homemade chocolate peanut butter cups every year around Valentine's Day. They are the perfect treat - decadent and sweet. If you make them yourself you can vary the kind of chocolate and even use home made peanut butter if you like, making them truly unique every time.
I couldn't find the exact recipe that she uses, but this one is close. The proportions she uses are - 3 cups of chocolate (we like dark), 1 cup of peanut butter, 1/2 cup of powdered sugar, 1/4 cup of graham crackers, and 1 teaspoon sea salt.
Use a mini muffin pan unless you want to make giant cups. Also you can use a microwave to melt the chocolate instead of a double boiler. Just make sure to heat the chocolate in short bursts and once it starts to melt stir the rest of it to spread the heat and melt the rest.
They are delicious but messy, almost impossible to eat without getting chocolate everywhere so keep a napkin handy.
Have a great week!
