More writing than last week. Hooray! Sometimes you hit a stride and just have to go for it. It felt really good to have words flowing, especially after a slow start.

I made a rather humbling discovery a week ago. I have a writing weakness. This, in and of itself, is not that startling. All writers have weaknesses, and usually more than one. It was more the nature of the weakness that was so startling.

After finishing my draft I felt moody and a little depressed. I wasn't in the mood to do any of my usual planning for the new year and didn't feel like picking up a new project. Time for a creative retreat to refresh and reset.
